We can fight this together

He took her arm, rolled up her sleeve,
And gasped at the damage a blade could leave.
Her broken skin, the horizontal lines,
"It's just a scratch, the worse ones are inside."

And then he pressed them to his lips,
Leaving her shocked to a simple kiss.
And tears dripped down from her eyes,
An apology bubbling, to her surprise.
'We'll fight this together." he promises her.
"Because these demons can't last forever."
